Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov denied any additional negotiations with Washington on the further exchange of prisoners serving sentences in Russia and the United States on Tuesday.
"I don't know what they have in mind. As the president has already said, our department is dealing with this matter. According to my information, no contacts are expected on this subject through the lines that I know about," Ryabkov told reporters.
Previously, the White House revealed that dialogue with Moscow would resume this week concerning the case of former American marine Paul Whelan that was convicted of espionage in Russia back in 2018.
