Russia doesn't see UN-assisted normalization of agricultural exports

Moscow does not observe normalization of exports of agricultural goods and fertilizers with assistance from the United Nations, TASS reported on Saturday, citing Russia's defense ministry.

According to the report, Russia sees it as "clearly" not essential to talk about the normalization of exports with the help of the UN if the implementation of this project is progressing with "difficulty and stalling." "While talking about the threats of hunger and global food security, the commercial orders of Ukrainians and the economic interests of Western beneficiaries are actually served," the ministry reportedly argued.

The trade agreement, inked between Ukraine and Russia last year, was backed by Turkey and the United Nations in order to facilitate food exports.
