Russian Foreign Ministry stated on Monday that Russia is declaring two German diplomats personae non gratae and expelling them from the country. The move follows a similar decision taken by Germany over the murder of a Chechen Zelimkhan Khangoshvili in Berlin, for which a Russian citizen was found guilty.

German Ambassador to Russia Geza Andreas von Geir was also summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry over the incident. The diplomat was also warned Moscow will respond to any similar moves by the German government in the future.
