Russian Ministry of Energy announced on Wednesday the government's decision to remove the temporary prohibition on exporting summer diesel fuel due to a saturation of the domestic market, with reserves exceeding 3.2 million tons.
"In order to prevent unloading of oil refineries and ensure high levels of production of popular fuels - commercial motor gasoline and winter grades of diesel fuel, as well as taking into account the stabilization of the price situation on the domestic market, a decision was made to terminate the temporary ban on the export of summer diesel fuel," the statement reads.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said the restriction on exporting diesel would be lifted soon. The initial restriction was put in place on September 21 as part of measures aimed at stabilizing prices in Russia's domestic fuel market.
