The Russian government shared on Friday in a statement, following Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and Saudi Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman's meeting, that Moscow and Riyadh are both "firmly committed" to the goals the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries Plus (OPEC+) set.
Russia and Saudi Arabia want to ensure that the stability of the energy market is maintained and that the balance of supply and demand is restored, the statement read. The two sides met ahead of the OPEC+ meeting scheduled for August 3, when the group will consider the further course of action regarding oil output as they assess the current situation on the market.
