Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu revealed on Wednesday that the country's air defense systems intercepted 419 Ukrainian drones and 67 missiles while the presidential elections were taking place.
Kiev was carrying out strikes on voting places and government institutions "where only civilians were present," Shoygu said during a Defense Ministry meeting, adding that both "the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their Western advisers" were aware of this.
He stated that, in order to prevent the attacks, Moscow had to boost "the security of government and social facilities."
