Russian Foreign Ministry Economic Cooperation Department Director Dmitry Birichevsky told state-run media that Moscow will not rule out raising the issue of compensation for damage dealt to its Nord Stream natural gas pipeline system.
Moscow will continue "to insist on a comprehensive and open international investigation with the mandatory participation of Russian representatives," according to Birichevsky.
Although Russia is avoiding an "extreme" response to sanctions imposed against it, the government is ready for any outcome and will not exclude any countermeasures, he pointed out.
