A Russian court sentenced opposition figure Alexey Navalny (pictured left) to nine years in prison after finding him guilty of fraud and contempt of court.
The court also fined Navalny 1.2 million rubles ($11,500).
The opposition figure has been imprisoned since January 2021 and was already been serving a two-and-a-half-year sentence.
