The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned United States Ambassador Lynn Tracy on Monday following Ukraine's air strike on Sevastopol, in Russian-occupied Crimea. In a statement, the ministry accused Washington of becoming a "party to the conflict" by supplying Ukraine with weapons used to carry out attacks against civilians and by training Ukrainian troops.

The ministry claimed the US "bears equal responsibility for this atrocity as the Kiev regime." It said Lynn was warned that Washington's actions "aimed at encouraging the pro-Nazi authorities of Ukraine to continue hostilities... by issuing permission to strike deep into Russian territory" will result in retaliatory action.
