Russian authorities claimed on Saturday that Ukrainian forces are shelling the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and the nearby town of Enerhodar. Earlier, a local official stated that attacks on the facilities could result in the shutdown of the reactor, alleging that it is what Ukraine is trying to achieve.

Volodymyr Rogov, a member of the local administration, quoted eyewitnesses as saying that there have been several explosions in the town and in the direction of the plant. There is currently no information on any damage and no independent reports on the alleged strike.
