United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence on Sunday said that Russia is using its overmatch in force ratio and artillery to gradually seize the territory in and around the city of Severodonetsk in Ukraine's eastern Donbas region.

In its latest intelligence update, the Ministry said Russia continues to generate more combat units for deployment and that it has likely started to prepare for the deployment of its third battalion.

"Deploying all three of their battalions simultaneously will likely reduce formations' longer-term capacity to regenerate combat power after operations." the Ministry said.
