South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin (pictured right) stated on Wednesday that North Korea will face cyber sanctions if it conducts a nuclear test, which would be the first one since 2017.

The United States and South Korea have accused Pyongyang of mobilizing hackers to steal funds, including cryptocurrencies, in order to finance its weapons. North Korea denied the accusations, emphasizing that its weapons are for the purpose of defense.

"There need to be more strengthened sanctions for North Korean IT workers stationed abroad making funds through illegal cyber hacking activity," the minister said.
