Government officials and experts from South Korea and the United States will convene in Seoul to discuss North Korea's human rights violations in celebration of the 10th anniversary of a United Nations Commission of Inquiry (COI) on Human Rights in North Korea report on Pyongyang's human rights issues, Yonhap reported on Monday, citing the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The COI was established in 2013 to investigate violations of human rights in North Korea, releasing a report that accused Pyongyang of "systematic, widespread and gross human rights violations" in 2014.

The international forum will be held in the first half of 2024, with its matter of discussion being the ongoing human rights violations committed in North Korea.
