The number of critically ill COVID-19 patients in South Korea has hit a record-high on Wednesday, rising by 1,151 since the last update was released, according to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC).
In the meantime the country's caseload increased by 5,409, to a total of 620,938, as 36 new deaths were registered, bringing the nation's coronavirus death toll to 5,382.
