South African representative in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) hearing on Israel's incursion into Rafah, lawyer Adila Hassim, laid out on Thursday the details of Israel's "genocidal conduct."

She stressed that the country continues to kill Palestinian women and children "at an alarming rate" and exacerbate the humanitarian crisis. Moreover, Israel's actions have led to the collapse of the medical system in the Gaza Strip, as hospitals and medical facilities were bombarded systematically. The lawyer went on to say that Israel's seizure of the Rafah and Kerem Shalom crossings obstructed the life-saving fuel deliveries, resulting in complete blackouts in some hospitals.

Hassim also underlined that the discovery of mass graves was yet another sign of Israel's "genocidal campaign." She said that hundreds of civilians were killed, including doctors and other medical staff.
