In South Korea, at least four people have been killed and another six injured in the southeastern region of the country, fueled by strong winds, Yonhap reported. Furthermore, 1,500 have been evacuated as wildfires raged, burning 3,286.11 hectares of land.

The fire began about 250 kilometers east of Seoul in Sancheong County and quickly spread to other parts. The South Korean Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters reported that the six people injured were from Sancheong and five of the victims' injuries were described as serious.

Lee Han-kyung, the deputy chief of the disaster control tower, told firefighters to mobilize all resources to quickly bring the fire under control. He added, "Wildfires are rapidly spreading to broader regions due to dry weather, threatening people's lives," and vowed to make an all-out effort to extinguish them.
