SpaceX launches X-ray telescope into space for NASA

Elon Musk's SpaceX launched early on Thursday its Falcon 9 vehicle carrying the Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer space telescope (IXPE) into space for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

IXPE, jointly developed by NASA and the Italian Space Agency in around $160 million deal, is expected to help the astronomical community better understand the physics behind and formation of black holes, neutron stars, supernova remnants, magnetars, and pulsars.

SpaceX and NASA launched their 32nd Commercial Resupply Services (CRS-32) mission to the International Space Station (ISS) on Monday.
