Russian pharmaceutical company R-Pharm said that it will start manufacturing the one-dose coronavirus vaccine, Sputnik Light, "in the near future." The company's Chairman Alexey Repik said the vaccine should be delivered to the general population in April or May.
Repik expressed confidence that the new production facilities, which will also make the two-dose Sputnik V, will solve the issue of vaccine availability, both in Russia and in many foreign markets. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin assured that all domestic COVID-19 shots are "absolutely safe and reliable" and said he plans to get immunized on Tuesday.
