Member of the European Parliament Stephane Sejourne (pictured) announced in a post on X on Thursday his appointment as France's new Minister of Foreign Affairs.
"On the recommendation of the Prime Minister, I was appointed Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs by the President of the Republic. I appreciate the honor done to me. It's huge. I will be keen to bring the unique voice of our country to the world," Sejourne wrote.
The politician, who held the position as the secretary-general of French President Emmanuel Macron's party, the Renaissance, is set to take over from Catherine Colonna, who served for a duration of 19 months.
