The unemployment rate in Switzerland stood at 2.5% in January, growing from 2.3% registered the previous month, the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) revealed in a report published on Wednesday.
The number of unemployed people in Switzerland observed a monthly rise of 6,316 and reached 113,175. Year-on-year, the figure increased by 12,399 people or 12.3%. The number of unemployed young people came in at 10,332, advancing by 430 people or 4.3% on a monthly level and 1,293 or 14.3% on an annual one.
The number of available jobs increased by 6,726 compared to the previous month to 42,106.
