Texas House of Representatives voted to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton after its General Investigating Committee submitted 20 articles of impeachment against him. The Republican-controlled Texas House voted 121-23 in favor of only the third impeachment in the state's history.
Paxton is accused of abuse of office, including bribery and obstruction of justice. He will be suspended until a trial can be held in the Senate. There is currently no information on a trial date and schedule. Paxton denies all charges and has been defended by former President Donald Trump, who called the impeachment "very unfair."
