Three petroleum tankers exploded in drone attack - UAE

Three petroleum tankers in Mussafah, southwest of Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, exploded in a fire that broke out in the morning local time, Abu Dhabi Police revealed on Monday.

The blasts occurred near Abu Dhabi National Oil Company's (ADNOC) storage tanks and another "minor fire also broke out in the new construction area of Abu Dhabi International Airport." The law enforcement also explained in a statement that "preliminary investigations suggest that the cause of the fires are small flying objects, possibly belonging to drones." Authorities are putting out the fires and "there are no significant damages resulting from the two accidents," according to the police.

Spokesman for the Houthi forces in Yemen Yahya Saree tweeted earlier in the day that "an important statement" about "a qualitative military operation in the UAE" will be made "in the coming hours."
