Toyota, SoftBank to partner in automotive industries - report

Toyota Motor and SoftBank Group will launch a joint venture in automotive, self-driving and other technologies and will announce their plan at a press conference in Tokyo, Nikkei Asian Review reported.

Toyota President Akio Toyoda and SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son will attend the press conference where the partnership in the development of new mobility-related technologies is expected to be announced.

SoftBank has so far invested in ride-hailing companies such as Uber Technologies, Chinese Didi Chuxing and Singapore's Grab.
