United States President Donald Trump spoke with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ahead of the Group of Seven Countries (G7) meeting scheduled for Monday, according to the White House.

After discussing the "hard-fought hockey championship" that the two countries' teams competed in, the leaders turned to the upcoming G7 call, which will mark the third anniversary of the war in Ukraine. Both leaders expressed a desire to see the war end.

Additionally, a statement published by Trudeau's office said that the prime minister informed the US president of the progress made in the fight against fentanyl on the US-Canada border, which included "the work of Canada's new Fentanyl Czar and Canada's listing of cartels."
