United States President Donald Trump was briefed this afternoon on The Atlantic's report by editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg, CNN reported, citing two officials familiar with the matter.

The Atlantic article claimed that Trump's national security adviser, Mike Waltz, accidentally included Goldberg in a private Signal chat discussing US military plans against Houthi rebels in Yemen. The chat, named "Houthi PC small group," included discussions on planned operations and updates on their execution. One of the cited officials told CNN that Trump remains supportive of Waltz and has no plans to fire him.

According to Goldberg, he received a Signal invitation from an account identified as Waltz on March 11 and was added to the chat two days later. The group discussed strikes on the Houthis, briefly shifted to an economic event mentioned by Vice President JD Vance, then returned to Yemen, where Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth backed proposals to be given to Trump. On March 15, Goldberg saw a message about the attacks, followed two hours later by one from Waltz declaring the operation a "success."
