United States President Donald Trump told Fox News' Bret Baier that his idea of Canada joining the US as a 51st state is a "real thing."
In a part of the interview with Baier aired before the Super Bowl in New Orleans Lousiana, Trump reiterated his earlier comments adding that he thought that Canada "would be much better off as a 51st state." He further stated that the US "loses $200 billion" per year with Canada, "I'm not gonna let that happen... it's too much."
Speaking about the potential negative economic impact of tariffs on consumers, Trump stated that he will not let other countries take advantage of the US.
The rest of Trump's interview with Baier will be released on Monday.
