United States President Donald Trump stated at the start of his dinner with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday that the two have "established an incredible relationship" and that he is looking forward to their meeting.
The US president said the meeting will cover "a number of topics" including trade and fentanyl, an opioid produced in China which plays a part in the current American opioid crisis. Commenting on the ongoing trade war between the two countries, Trump said that "at some point, we are going to end up doing something that will be good for China and good for the United States" without specifying whether that includes a comprehensive trade deal.
