United States President Donald Trump told reporters on Thursday that he hopes a deal can be reached with Iran to prevent Israel from attacking its nuclear facilities, but said that if Iran does not make the deal, "that's ok, too."
When asked about if he would support Israel striking Iran's nuclear facilities, the US president initially declined to answer the question. He said that he will be meeting with "various people" over the next couple of days, and although he did not want to give any names, he noted that it would "very high-level people."
"Hopefully, that could be worked out without having to worry about it. It would really be nice if that could be worked out without having to go that further step," Trump said. "Iran hopefully will make a deal, and if they don't make a deal, then I guess that's ok, too," he added.
