United States President Donald Trump expressed on Thursday his belief that the "annexation of Greenland will happen."
Speaking at the Oval Office during a meeting with North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary General Mark Rutte, Trump stated that his administration has been "dealing with Denmark and Greenland" on the matter, insisting that "we're going to have to make a deal" as it is needed for "international security."
Rutte refused to talk directly about the US's takeover of Greenland but claimed that it is "important for that part of the world to stay safe" given that China uses those routes in the Arctic Circle.
