"A country without borders is not a country at all," United States President Donald Trump stressed in his speech at the National Space Council on Monday. The president blamed the Democratic Party for immigration issues, including the policy of separating families of illegal immigrants at the border, calling it to support a comprehensive immigration reform.
Commenting on the implications of migration in Europe, Trump pointed out that a situation like that will not be allowed in the United States. "We will not be a refugee holding facility," he said. "Not on my watch."
The president called for a "merit-based" immigration system in the United States, to replace the "worst immigration laws in the entire world."
