Trump picks ex-senator Loeffler as new SBA chief

Former United States Senator Kelly Loeffler will be nominated as the new administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA), President-elect Donald Trump announced in a statement on TruthSocial.

"Kelly will bring her experience in business and Washington to reduce red tape, and unleash opportunity for our Small Businesses to grow, innovate, and thrive. She will focus on ensuring that SBA is accountable to Taxpayers by cracking down on waste, fraud, and regulatory overreach," the president-elect said of Loeffler.

Loeffler, who served as a senator from Georgia from 2020 to 2021, was also appointed by Trump as co-chair of his inaugural committee along with Steve Witkoff. At the same time, she was previously mentioned as his potential nominee for agriculture secretary.
