EPA-EFE/JUSTIN LANE

Former United States President Donald Trump pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to charges brought against him by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office over payments he had supposedly made in 2016 to cover up his earlier extramarital affairs.

The indictment against him includes 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree, according to US media. His full indictment has yet to be publicly available.

Trump gave no comment to reporters before stepping into the courtroom and after he surrendered to New York authorities for his arraignment.
