Bolsonaro's election complaint rejected

Brazil's Supreme Electoral Court rejected a complaint submitted by incumbent President Jair Bolsonaro's party challenging the presidential election that took place in October. The election was won by Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in a runoff after the first round did not produce a clear winner.

Bolsonaro's complaint came almost a month after the results were confirmed by the electoral court and alleged "technical malfunctions" were observed in some electronic voting machines. However, the court ruled that the filing was made in "bad faith" and fined the president's coalition $4.27 million.
