United States President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin agreed on Tuesday that the Ukrainian peace talks should start with "an energy and infrastructure ceasefire."
According to a readout published by the White House, both parties emphasized the need to start the negotiation with the "implementation of a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea, full ceasefire and permanent peace. " Talks are set to begin immediately in the Middle East.
During an hour-and-a-half-long talk, both leaders also discussed the broader geopolitical landscape, emphasizing cooperation to prevent conflicts and limit the proliferation of strategic weapons; in that sense, Trump and Putin agreed that Iran must never threaten Israel.
