United States President Donald Trump told the Cabinet that while Elon Musk, who is currently running the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), can give recommendations on potential actions, he cannot unilaterally fire employees or change policies, Politico reported on Thursday, citing two administration officials.

"You're in charge of your departments, not Elon Musk," Trump said, according to the sources. It was further mentioned that Musk was present at the meeting when the message was delivered.

Earlier, Trump revealed that the DOGE meetings will be held every two weeks, praising Musk's work so far.
