United States President Donald Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that Russians "have the cards" when it comes to talks on ending the war in Ukraine.

Trump said he thinks Russia is negotiating in good faith, and suggested that it holds the upper hand in the talks. "I think the Russians want to see the war end... But I think they have the cards a little bit because they have taken a lot of territory, so they have the cards," he stressed. Trump's comments came after his most recent criticism of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whom he previously called a "dictator without elections."

On a separate note, Trump also told reporters he would be open to reaching a new trade deal with China. "It's possible," Trump said when asked if he would make a new deal with Beijing. He then added that he was talking to China about TikTok, without elaborating.
