Trump slaps 34% tariff on China, 20% on EU, 24% on Japan

United States President Donald Trump stated Wednesday that the upcoming tariffs "won't be fully reciprocal." The president added, "I could have done that," calling the upcoming counter-levies "kind reciprocal."

According to the chart the president showed, a 20% tariff would be imposed on the European Union. Additionally, a 34% tariff will be slapped on China while Vietnam will have a 46% duty imposed on its exports.

Furthermore, the US will be placing a 24% tariff on Japan and a 10% reciprocal levy on the United Kingdom, as well as countries such as India, Singapore, Brazil, and South Africa, among others.
