United States President Donald Trump said on Monday that his movement will impose a 25% tariff on the Venezuelan oil trade.

According to Trump, the move comes as Venezuela has "purposefully and deceitfully sent to the United States, undercover, tens of thousands of high-level, and other, criminals, many of whom are murderers and people of a very violent nature." Moreover, the president also emphasized that the Latin American country has been also against the "freedoms" that the US sponsors.

The decision will impact any country that trades oil and gas with Venezuela. The necessary documentation will be signed on April 2.
