American political commentator Tucker Swanson McNear Carlson confirmed Tuesday on X that he had interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin, ending days of speculation about the possible reason for his visit to Moscow.
"Two years into a war reshaping the world, most Americans are not informed. They have no real idea what is happening in this region, here in Russia or 600 miles away from Ukraine. But they should know that they are paying for much of it in ways they might not fully yet perceive," Carlson said in a video posted on the social media.
In the video, the political commentator describes the war in Ukraine as a "disaster" affecting the entire population of that country. However, according to him, the long-term effects will be even greater. He also said that he had requested an interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and is awaiting a response from his office.
