Borrell: EU to agree new Russia sanctions today

European Union's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell asserted on Wednesday the Council of Ministers would reach a deal on introducing a new sanctions package against Russia as soon as today.

According to the report published earlier today, Brussels is expected to include a price cap on oil sales to third countries in the eight sanctions package since the start of Moscow's invasion on Ukraine in late February.

"You can trust the Council will reach a sanctions deal today," Borrell pledged.
