Microsoft cloud business set for growth - Nadella

EPA-EFE/JUSTIN LANE

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said in an interview with Nikkei Asia that he believes the company can grow, despite concerns about the stagnant global economy. The company's cloud business sales reached over 30% and Nadella believes this sets the company apart from rivals such as Amazon.com and Google.

On the possibility of Microsoft cutting jobs, Nadella commented that "all of us will have to make sure that our operating expenses are in line with our revenue growth."

Looking to the future of digital markets, Nadella said he was "very optimistic" in the Asia-Pacific region, predicting emerging markets to expand. He sees artificial intelligence as the most important technology over the next coming 10 years.
