The United Kingdom's ambassador to the United States has the "full support" of the British government, Downing Street said after US President Donald Trump said he would no longer work with him.
"We have made clear to the US how unfortunate this leak is. The selective extracts leaked do not reflect the closeness of, and the esteem in which we hold, the relationship," a spokesman for Prime Minister Theresa May stated, however, he added the diplomat's job necessitated he provide his honest assessments.
