The United Kingdom executed new strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen in a joint operation with the United States, the UK Ministry of Defense confirmed in a statement.

The ministry went on to provide further details of the strikes, stating that the Royal Air Force (RAF) used Paveway IV precision-guided bombs to assault two Houthi military sites near the Sanaa airfield, due to the sites being used to stage further "intolerable attacks" against vessels in the Red Sea. The UK Secretary of State for Defense Grant Shapps stressed that this attack will "...deal another blow to their limited stockpiles and ability to threaten global trade."

"In line with UK standard practice, a very rigorous analysis was applied in planning the strikes, in order to minimize any civilian casualties," the ministry concluded.
