The United Kingdom embassy in Yemen confirmed Wednesday that an attack by Houthis in the Red Sea has left the first fatalities since the beginning of the strikes against commercial ships, with "two innocent sailors dead."

In a post on the social platform X, the embassy said that "this was the sad and predictable result of the Houthis' reckless missile launches on international shipping," and urged the militias to stop them.

In addition, the embassy made the statement reposting the latest update on offensive actions from the spokesperson of the Yemeni Armed Forces Yahya Sare'e who claimed the groups' responsibility against the "American ship (TRUE CONFIDENCE) in the Gulf of Aden, with a number of appropriate naval missiles. The strike was accurate, and led to a fire breaking out on it," Sare'e said.
