The United Kingdom's gross domestic product (GDP) was flat in the three months to July, according to the country's Office for National Statistics (ONS) on Monday. According to the released data, the GDP grew by 0.2% in July 2022, compared to the fall of 0.6% in June 2022.
The services sector contributed largely to the new result, with an output increase of 0.4% in July 2022. Production was down by 0.3% after a 0.9% drop in June 2022, primarily due to a 3.4% decrease in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning.
Construction also edged down 0.8% in July 2022, following a 1.4% drop in June 2022, while output in consumer-facing services was up by 0.6%.
