UK industrial production unchanged in September

Production output in the United Kingdom remained unchanged in September compared to the previous month, the Office for National Statistics revealed in a report on Friday.

According to the report, two of the four production sectors showed increased activity, with water supply and sewerage output being the main positive driver, recording 1.4% growth. Manufacturing output rose by 0.1% as the mining and quarrying sector kept production subdued, falling by 2.2%.

In the manufacturing sector, five of its 13 subsectors showed growth, with the manufacture of computer, electronic, and optical products climbing by 2.8% and the manufacture of machinery and equipment going up by 2.7%.
