British Foreign Secretary David Cameron (pictured) stated on Sunday that he had informed his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, about the need for Iran to take responsibility for stopping the attacks carried out by Yemen's Houthis in the Red Sea.
"I spoke to [Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian] today about Houthi attacks in the Red Sea, which threaten innocent lives and the global economy. I made clear that Iran shares responsibility for preventing these attacks given their long-standing support to the Houthis," Cameron posted on X.
For weeks, the Houthis have been targeting ships in the Red Sea, justifying their actions as a show of support for Palestinians during the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel, which started on October 7.
