Downing Street spokesperson said on Wednesday in a statement that the United Kingdom will continue discussions with the United States over tariffs "coolly and calmly."
"We don't want any tariffs at all, so for jobs and livelihoods across the UK, we will coolly and calmly continue to negotiate in Britain's interests," the spokesperson remarked, insisting that a trade war is "in nobody's interests."
Meanwhile, a No 10 source was quoted by Sky News as saying that the delay in the tariff implementation on those countries that didn't react immediately "does show cool and calm can pay off."
