The trade deficit in goods and services in the United Kingdom decreased £0.5 billion to £19 billion in the second quarter, the Office for National Statistics reported on Friday. Exports decreased by 1.3% on a quarterly basis to £197.8 billion, and imports lost 1.4% and landed at £216.8 billion.
In June, the trade in goods recorded a deficit of £15.9 billion, down by £3.5 billion from May. Total exports of goods increased by £0.6 billion or 1.8% month-on-month in June to £31.5 billion, while imports dropped 5.8% to £47.4 billion.
