Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevgen Korniychuk told the Times of Israel on Monday that Russian security forces are to blame for the escalation of the most recent anti-Jewish riots that took place in the Dagestan Republic in Russia.
"They brought the security forces into the airport, but they were sitting aside and smoking cigarettes. They did nothing," the envoy stated. He went on to condemn Moscow's words that Kiev was responsible for the incident. "What else you can expect from the Russian propaganda?," Korniyuchuk asked.
Earlier, Russian officials claimed that Ukrainian authorities were involved in the incident that took place at the Dagestan airport, as they wanted to weaken "the harmonious development and ethno-confessional unity of the people of the Russian Federation."
